Good Evening, I had to work all day, pulling into the driveway at 8:30 this evening. My wonderful husband helped me out by being my last minute guest baker for tonight. Here is his journey for the night...
For over 40 days I've listened to how much chaos it is to pack kids school lunches, get them out the door, and get the ingredients together to make and bake the cookies that will be discussed in this blog. As my lovely wife was working, I had the pleasure of experiencing the "art" of baking the Chocolate Crackles. Not only was this enjoyable, it was therapeutic. The art of slowly adding ingredients at the exact moment while keeping the kids full of healthy snacks made me realize how much I should stay at work. Throw in the fact that I had steaks burning on the grill and two more boys being dropped off to spend the night, it's a miracle that we are able to blog this early in the evening. All kidding aside, these are the best cookies I have ever made and I certainly enjoyed participating - JR.
Thank you Jack, these are like mini brownies but with a twist. The two of us have eaten at least 5 each and that can not be done without a cup of milk. Thank you! so good! Angie
How cool is that to have a guest baker living right in your own home! Jack, you did a great job. You deserve to be commended not only for your baking skills, but handling 2 extra boys, cooking dinner and writing the blog. You call this theraputic?!!
ReplyDeleteAngie, what a pleasant way to end an evening after a long day at work by having cookies and milk with a husband who baked them. Theresa G.
Jack what a guy. My husband would have been lost. I'm impressed you've even baked cookies before. That particular cookie is a favorite of everyones. After looking at the picture I'd like to dip one myself. Great job. L. Sharon

ReplyDeleteI tried 3 times to post a comment the other day and I kept getting an error message. Now I see that it posted the comment 3 times! Since I've already had my cookie delivery by Jack (no, he didn't wear the apron and pearls!) I can tell you that they were delicious. Angie is a lucky woman to have a guy like Jack! There are 3 other husbands out there that are going to have to step it up and bake a cookie!
ReplyDeleteAngie, The cookies look great. We must have missed our delivery from Jack. These are my boys favorite cookie of Theresa's I'll have to make some when we are all done with the book.

We have quite the cookie stash going on at our house so Scott just tried this cookie for the first time tonight. After taking a bite his response is, "WOW! Who made these?" I said, "Jack!" Scott almost chokes on his cookie as he didn't expect that answer and with a mouthful he says, "Wow, Jack can bake!" It is safe to assume this is Scott's favorite cookie from Theresa's recipes so far.
ReplyDeleteJack...you are the man! Angie...you are a lucky lady!
I think these are by far everyone's favorite cookie! (Well, that and Sharon's waffle cookies). That is great that your husband was able to fill in last minute for you!
